Pearl City Community Church was honored and recognized by the Council of the City and County of Honolulu
Congratulations to Pearl City Community Church (PCCC) on being honored and recognized by the Council of the City and County of Honolulu on May 15, 2024. The PCCC’s numerous contributions to public service included after-school programs for kids, feeding the homeless, quarterly bike path clean up, annual Thanksgiving lunches, weekly kūpuna and family meals, and the EnhanceFitness program to improve the overall fitness and well-being of older adults.

EnhanceFitness is featured in Rep. Chun’s legislative update. Rep. Chun highlighted the program’s effectiveness in improving the well-being of our seniors and shared his experience in participating in an EnhanceFitness class at Pearl City Community Church (Midweek, May 15, 2024).
PCCC on the national EF news
Pearl City Community Church published a step-by-step handbook to share their experience in implementing EnhanceFitness in churches. Their effort in sustaining EF in faith institutions to lessen the risk of falls among older adults is featured in the national EF news (April 2024).

Pearl City Community Church’s EnhanceFitness participants visited the state Capitol to advocate for the Healthy Aging Partnership bill (Midweek, March 20, 2024).
Celebrating Legislative Support
